Kathleen Jeannetta Holloway age 83, “Jeannetta” as she was known to all, was born in Chataignier, Louisiana on November 7, 1933 to Littel and Adia Sonnier and went to her Heavenly father on Saturday Oct. 21, 2017 at a local caregiver’s home .
Jeannetta lived most of her life in the Vinton-Niblett’s Bluff area and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Charter member of St. Joseph the Worker Court # 1986 where she received the honor of Daughter of the Year. She worked as a March of Dimes coordinator and was a former chairman of the 1973 Cancer Crusade for the Vinton area and a past member of the Quilting Cousins.
She enjoyed family celebrations, loved baking and cooking and canning vegetables and fruit from her garden. Most of all she loved camping and her passion was fishing with her husband. She made many memories for her family and friends at their camp in Hackberry.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Angela Fenetz and husband Larry, Connie Boullion and husband Randy, Deborah Jagneaux and husband Chris; one son Kenneth Holloway and fiancé Mandy Pullen; her sister, Theresa Ruth Bouquet and husband George, sister in law, Pat Sonnier, and eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Keiser, Corey Fenetz, Matthew Fenetz, Chance Fenetz, Shawn Fenetz, Alicia Silver, Gayla Taylor, Ryan Jagneaux, Brandon Holloway, Kade Holloway, and Cayden Pullen, and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Holloway; parents, Adia and Littel Sonnier; her brother, Gene Sonnier; mother in law, Pearl Holloway and father in law, Charles Holloway Sr.
Her mass of Christian burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 25 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Reverend Carlos Garcia will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 24 in the Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton and continue Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
Arrangements will be under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
