James Harold Barnes

Jim retired from Star Enterprises formerly Texaco Refinery as a machinist. Jim loved hunting, fishing, dancing, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee "Angel" Barnes, son, James Todd Barnes, son, Karl Wayne Cheney, daughter, Sherry Monique Wilcox, parents, Harold and Eunice Barnes.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter, Lisa Kilroy and husband, Mike of California; daughter, Jana Maldonado of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Keith "Beau" Cheney and wife, Kerri of Sulphur; daughter-in-law, Stacy Barnes of Beaumont, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Joshua Cheney and wife, Meagan, Brayden Cheney, Hunter Rabalais, Alayna Rabalais, Lillian Rabalais, Ashlyn Barnes and Randall Winn, Michael Cheney and wife, Melissa, Alan Cheney and wife, Kristen, Lauren Kilroy, Alyssa Kilroy, Matthew Wilcox, Brandon Wilcox, Caitlyn Hill and husband, Jaxon, Steven Maldonado; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family, and so many loving friends.

It was James's wish to be cremated. A gathering of friends and family for fellowship will begin at noon on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Alligator Park in Starks. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Shields officiating. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
