He was a lifelong resident of Vinton. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Leslie was a Marine and served in the Vietnam conflict. He was a marine tugboat captain and took pride in the work that he did. He enjoyed going to car shows and working with antique cars.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hantz Cain of 46 years; two sons, Steven Wesley Cain and wife Shawn of Orange, Texas, James Bennett Cain and wife Kristen of Sulphur; one sister, Bonnie Jane Dameron of Vinton; five grandchildren, Matthew, Logan, Marcus, Allison, Kandace; with a host of family and friends; he is preceded in by his parents; two sisters, Hester L. Cain and Myra Korringa.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m Friday, August 18, in Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, Louisiana. Pastor Don Snider and Rev. Gary Mann will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 17 at 5 - 9 p.m. and will continue on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery in Fields, La.
