She was a resident of Vinton for over 70 years, coming from Alabama where she received her Business Degree. Maurine had previously worked at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital as a Nurse's Assistant and she was the owner and operator of Foreman's Grocery Store in Vinton for many years. She was a charter member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family. Maurine will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Foreman, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Vinton, and Jerry Foreman and wife, Barbara of Buna, Texas; four daughters, Levada Trahan and husband, Milton of Vinton, Julia Worsham of Buna, Texas, Linda Dunn and husband, George of Vinton, and Diane Hudson of Lake Charles; step-children, Betty Joyce Foreman of San Antonio, Texas and Wilford Foreman of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Willard T. Bailey and wife, Erma of Panama City, Florida, and Bib Morgan Bailey of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters, Claudine Holt of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jeannine Winfield and husband, Herbert of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Grady, Michael Dupre', Ryan Dupre', Dr. Lindsey Dupre', Justin Dunn, Jeremy Dunn, Felicia Burke, Todd Trahan, Greg Trahan, Jade English, Sunny Miller, Cathy Hoffpauir, Mitzi Bond, Wendy Trahan, Shawn Worsham, Raylen Worsham, Ralph Worsham, John Henry Worsham, Jennifer Whitehead, Sabrina Worsham, Shelly Williams, Ralph Lance Foreman, Terry Childs, Gail Ewing, Pam Williams, Jeanie Williams, Renee Romero, Rhonda Harrington, Hunter Persac, and Lance Persac, Mary Shoemake, Vincent Marras, Andrew Marras, Nayton Marras, Ralph Lance Foreman, Marchelle Achinson and Michael Foreman; and greater than 100 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Foreman, Sr.; three daughters, Annie Foreman, Patricia Foreman, and Betty Jo Thibodeaux; and a son, Joseph D. Foreman.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 12, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. Burial will be in Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home..
