Dorothy May Vincent, 91, of Sulphur, passed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Charles and Nellie Boudreaux on July 3, 1929 in Port Arthur, TX. She loved spending time with her family, working in her flower beds, sewing, and crabbing. She was well known for her cooking, especially her yeast rolls, divinity, ginger snaps, and fried chicken. Her faith, along with her steadfast prayer life, was one of her greatest assets. Dorothy was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for 60 years where she taught Sunday School and held several offices in the church, before closing in 2015. Shortly after, she began attending First Baptist Church in Vinton, where she worshipped for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Ogea (Howard) of Vinton; son, Tommy Boudreaux of Carlyss; one sister, Vernell Byers (James) of Conroe, TX; three granddaughters, Monie Ingram (Nathan) of Alabama, Courtney Corner (fiancé Chris Richard) of Carlyss, Brittany Ogea of Vinton; six great grandchildren, Allie Corner, Micah and Melody Ingram, Emma Ogea, Madison Corner, Ethan Ogea; and numerous nieces, nephews, that she held dear to her heart.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie "Bill" Vincent; one brother, Ervin Boudreaux, five sisters, Mable Woods, Bernice Self, Ruth Trahan, Helen Wiley, and Janell Kirkland.
She will be missed by all that knew and loved her, and the influence she had was insurmountable.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00am, with Bro. Bobby Daniel officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, from 8:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss. Per the cemetery's regulations for COVID, there will not be a procession to the cemetery.
