He was a lifelong resident of Vinton and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Alvin worked for several years for Burton Shipyard and then retired from Orange Shipbuilding in 1992. After his retirement, he did lawn work and painting to keep himself busy. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Rosa Boudreaux; three children, Nancy Lewis and husband, Willie, Charles Nowell and wife, Jolinda, all of Vinton, and Hiawatha Valerio and husband, Herminio of Hemphill, Texas; six siblings, Clifton Boudreaux, Wilson Boudreaux, Dallas Boudreaux, JoAnn LaBove, and Mable Cormier, all of Vinton, and Mildred LeBert of Lake Charles; and his beloved dog, Paco. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Ella Boudreaux; and siblings, Eunice Boullion, Dorothy Courville, Clovis "Junior" Boudreaux, David Boudreaux, Leroy Boudreaux, and Raymond Boudreaux.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 9, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Jack Bartlett will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Pallbearers will be Mitch, Elmo, Maurice, Raymond, Darrell, Frankie, and Chris LaBove. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
