Alex Dakota, 52, of Vinton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born December 6, 1971 in El Paso, Texas and spent her life in Vinton, Louisiana. She was a Bridge City High School Alumni, class of 1990. After graduation, she devoted her life to serving others. She attended Lamar State College-Orange to become an EMT. She was extremely proud of her vast medical knowledge and continued learning everything she could, even after ending her career on the ambulance. She then worked and retired from the United States Post Office as a rural carrier at Drew Station in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Following that, she took pride in caring for her parents and great nieces and nephews. Her favorite role of all was being "LaLa" to her babies.
Alex was known for her love of adventures and Green Bay Packers. She was a diehard Packer fan and football season was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed concerts, cruises, and traveling all over the country. She had the most broad and unique taste in music and loved to share it with everyone. She spent her evenings playing pool in a local pool league known as the "Boo-Bees." She cherished her friends that she made there who turned into family.
She is survived by her parents, Doraine and Bert Daville of Vinton; two sisters, Denise Daville of Orange, Texas and Lisa Daville of Vinton; brother, Will (Dana) Provost and their five children of Tomball, Texas; stepmother, Judy Provost of Seattle, Washington; nieces, Chelsi (Chad) Palmer, Ciara (Jude) Simon, Celeigh (Jeffrey) Fontenot, and Baylea (Mason) Scarborough, all of Vinton; great nieces and nephews, Kinley, Hayes, Ansleigh, Anistyn, Julien, Kohen, Rilee, Kallen, Avery, and Luke; God Son, Gabe Jardell; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Alex is preceded in death by her sister, DeAnne Daville; father, Bill Provost; grandparents, Betty Jean Stennett and Donald Miller; grandfather, Marvin Provost; grandparents, Edward and Joyce Daville; cousin, Rudy Goldwire; uncle, Andrew Daville; and God Father, Willis Daville.
A Celebration of Alex's life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with Deacon Jesse Menard officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 10:00 am. until the Rosary at 12:00 pm, followed by the service at 2:00 pm.
