Katherine B. Roark

She was born to the late Nelda Roby and Joseph Richard Kincaid , September 21, 1934, in Rochester, PA. Katherine graduated high school and then attended nursing school becoming a Registered Nurse. Shortly after graduation from nursing school she joined the Air Force in January 1960. After her discharge from the Air force Katherine settled in San Bernardino County and worked for over 25 years as an RN at St. Mary Desert Valley Hospital.

Katherine is survived by her brother James Kincaid (Carol) and her three children: Rebecca Holman (Michael) of White Bluff, TN; David Roark of Hemet, CA; and Jennifer Roark of Victorville, CA. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Bryan Kautz (Tiffany), Matthew Holman, and Kirsten Holman, and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandson Caleb Holman, and her brothers Herbert Kincaid and Joseph Robert Kincaid.

Despite never returning to her hometown, she remained a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She also loved baseball and enjoyed watching it on TV and attending live games. She shared her love of bowling and camping with her children. As a single mother, she would load the family up and drive across country, camping, exploring the country, and attending family reunions in PA and NY. Although she was retired many years, she enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with other St. Mary alumni and visiting with her friends.

There will not be a public viewing or funeral. The burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery.
