Born Judy Caroline Vanner on January 18, 1938 to Stanley and Beatrice (Shaw) Vanner in Falmouth Foreside, Maine. The Vanner family moved to Compton, CA in 1942 so Stanley could work in the Long Beach shipyard to support the war effort. Judy graduated from La Puente High School in 1956 and married Albert Duke a short time later. The Duke family lived in La Puente and Diamond Bar. After Judy and Albert divorced in 1979, she moved to Chino and worked at Conley Hardware in Pomona. She married Donald Tull in 1981, moved to Hesperia in 1986, where she was an active Realtor until 2006. After a 12-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Judy died peacefully on September 2, 2015, in Hesperia. She is survived by husband Donald Tull; brother Bruce Vanner; daughter Carol Rohrer and son-in-law John Rohrer; son Larry Duke and daughter-in-law Margie Duke; daughter Diana Duke; son Brian Duke; stepson, Jonathan Tull and stepdaughter-in-law Danette Tull; stepdaughter Jenifer Tull-Gauger, and step son-in-law Kirk Gauger; nephews Russell and Doug Vanner; and by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins in Maine and Massachusetts; sister-in-law Mamie Orth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy will be well remembered for her friendly, bubbly, quick-witted personality, as well as her connection to nature—especially her appreciation for sunrises and sunsets, flowers, domestic animals, and wild birds (especially quail). A viewing will be held Sunday September 13 from 4:00 to 8:00pm, and funeral and graveside services are Monday September 14 starting at 1:00pm, both at Desert View Memorial Park, in Victorville, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society in her honor.
Arrangements under the direction of Desert View Funeral Home, VICTORVILLE, CA.
