John Bernard Allen

John Bernard Allen Sr., also known as Pops, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023. John was born to the parents Edward C. Allen and Gladys Bunn on August 21, 1930 in Huntington NY. Shortly after graduation from high school he enlisted in the Air Force. After 21 years of service with the Air Force he retired in 1972. He then started a second career with Northrup Grumman, until his final retirement. John was a respected, reliable and valued person with both careers. John was heavily involved with the churches he attended throughout his life. He cherished his volunteer services with the Kiwanis club in Pahrump NV.

John loved a good novel by James Patterson, he was an avid reader along with being an accomplished gardener. He and his beloved deceased wife, Wanda Allen always enjoyed opening their home for family and friend’s gatherings with good food, cards, monopoly and domino games. Everyone was always welcomed in their home, as there was always another seat available at the table.

Preceded in death his beloved wife, Wanda Allen. His parents, Edward and Gladys Allen. Deceased siblings, Helen, Charles, Arthur and surviving sibling, Ardella.

John has 4 children from his previous marriage to Giletta Allen. Julia Allen Dixon (Charles Vivian), Constance Allen Rutledge (Donnie Rutledge), Wanda Allen Dillon (Elder Austin Dillon Jr), deceased John Allen Jr. His cherished grandchildren, Amanda Henry-Sander (Nicole Sander), Austin Dillon III (Kristen Dillon), Brandon Merriweather (Keya Merriweather), Krystle Dillon (Mario Hernandez), Britteny Dillon (John Zarich) Raven Rutledge. John has 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on August 4th at 10am with interment to follow at the location of Desert View Funeral Home, Victorville CA. A reception will be held at Victorville Activities Center, Victorville, CA.
