James Walter Marston, Sr., 81, passed away at noon on Sunday, February 11, 2018 peacefully while surrounded by family and loved ones. Jim, Sr. was born to Wanda (Pytel) Marston and James Marston on June 16th, 1936 in Woodworth, ND. After marrying the love of his life, Marjorie Louise (Brugh) Marston, he spent most of his life in Glendora, CA with his three sons James Walter Marston Jr., Thomas Christopher Marston and John Christopher Marston (d.2008). Jim, Sr. owned and operated multiple hardware stores in the area and was a respected member of the business community. He also spent much of his time in Oak Hills, CA, restoring classic vehicles, collecting vintage tractors and other prized possessions. Jim, Sr. is survived by his wife Marjorie, two sisters Patricia and Judy, Two sons, Jim Jr. and Tom, cousin Lisa, and his grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, Andrew, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Tyler and Tanner. Sisters Marilyn, Geraldine and Delores, as well as son, John precede him in death. Jim, Sr. will leave behind a legacy of an incredible work ethic, profound entrepreneurship, unwavering generosity and unconditional love for family and friends alike. Services will be held in Victorville, CA at Desert View Cemetery, where his youngest son John can be present. In lieu of flowers, please make a monetary donation to the Woodworth, ND, ELCA church where Jim, Sr. was baptized, attended as a child and niece, who is Deacon of the church will officiate
