Guadalupe Navarro was born on the 24th of August 1934, second child of three to Jose Maria and Aurora Chinchillas in Baymena, Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico. Her sister, Josefa Chinchillas “Chepina”, survives Guadalupe. Her older brother, Ramon Chinchillas died in 2012.
In 1950, she married her life long love Gregorio Florentino Navarro in Sinaloa, Mexico. Gregorio brought two children to their marriage: Jesus Navarro and Elias Navarro, together with Guadalupe they added eight more children: Maria Aurora Navarro, Rafael Navarro, Rodolfo Navarro, Eduardo Navarro, Manuel de Jesus Navarro, Gabriel Navarro, Ricardo Navarro, and Adriana Navarro. All were born in Mexico. Sadly Maria Aurora and Ricardo died too early.
In 1975 Guadalupe and Gregorio moved to Apple Valley/Victorville where Gregorio found a job at the Apple Valley Golf Club. There they created a better life for their children in a Christ centered home. They saw their children marry and create families totaling over 40 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 14 and counting great great grandchildren. She was a homemaker that loved to instill manners and culture to her children and grandchildren. She was the active pillar of the home and sought to make her children better.
Both Guadalupe and Gregorio always tried to serve the Lord in any capacity from helping start up a church in Phelan with Pastora Iris Rivera, to being pillars of the First Spanish Assembly of God in Victorville with Pastor Jesse Sanchez. Being Sunday schoolteachers to ushers to women’s leaders.
