Grace Ann Byers Shearer

Grace is survived by her sons, James L. and Mary Shearer and family, Joseph Shearer and David Shearer; daughters, Karen and Eric Kendall and family, Judith and Mark Bergthold and family, Danielle Shearer. Grace is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her eternal companion James L. Shearer, daughter Jennifer, son John, great grandson Kayden, her parents Leroy and Gertrude Byers, in laws Bernie and Tess Shearer, and her 9 brothers and sisters.

Grace grew up in Oakland until she married James at the age of 16. She was a homemaker until Judy reached school then went to College and earned her Associate of Arts degree. Grace then went through and completed a Psych Tech Program and was hired by Atascadero State Hospital where she worked for 10 years.

Grace spent her free time decorating cakes. She enjoyed this very much. Grace also enjoyed cruising throughout her life and traveled to Alaska, Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico. The highlight was a family cruise to the Caribbean in December 2007.

A Memorial will be held when we join Grace with her eternal companion at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.
