Waylan J. Brannan Sr., 83, of Victoria passed away Friday, May 1, 2015. He was born November 18, 1931 in Bynum, Texas to the late Herbert M. and Ola Johnson Brannan. Waylan served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the founder of Brannan Paving. He loved to hunt, fish and travel with family and friends. He served his community as President of the YMCA, and served on the Boards of the American Bank of Commerce and Citizens Hospital. He was a member of Masonic Lodge AF/AM #40. Waylan was also a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Holstien Brannan; daughter, Bonnie Vollmering and husband, Shawn; son, Waylan J. Brannan Jr. all of Victoria; sister, Margie Halpain of Waco; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons, Charles Brannan and Robert G. “Glen” Brannan; sisters, Lillian Marquette and Inez Brannan; brothers, Woodrow Brannan, Melvin Brannan and R. C. Brannan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2015, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Rev. Mickey Ewing officiating. Burial with full Masonic honors will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Waylan J. Brannan III, Shaun Brannan, Jason Brannan, Vincent Vollmering, Cody Brannan and Jimmy Brannan.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Hunter Barthels, Cole Brannan, Payton Brannan, Drake Brannan, Bentley Huff, Brannan Huff, William Moulton, Kenneth Price, Lynwood Smith and Dodger Moles.
We would like to recognize Amanda Bryant for 39 years of faithful service.
