Virginia Mae Hunnicutt Edwards was born February 3, 1932, and went to be with Jesus on October 13, 2021, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. Virginia was born in Bloomington, Tx to John P. Hunnicutt Sr. and Opal Mae Guerin Hunnicutt. Virginia was married to the love of her life who spoiled her rotten, Eldon Donald “George” Edwards on Oct. 1, 1953.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, brother and one sister, her husband and niece. She is survived by her sister Carroll Sue Smith, son Michael Edwards, daughter Michele Kimball (Timothy), Granddaughters Sarah Foster (Matt), and Christin Kimball. Great granddaughters Jillian and Sadie Foster, sister-in-law Yoshiko Hunnicutt, nephews William Theodore Smith III, John and Jeffery Hunnicutt, great nephews William Smith IV, Jacob Smith, and great nieces Jacklynn and Kennadie Smith.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services are 2 PM Monday, October 18, 2021 at the First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Citizens Hospital, Home Instead, her private sitters, as well as the Nurses and Staff of Hospice of South Texas Dornberg Center.
