Victor passed away on March 5, 2024. He was born in Falfurrias, Tx to M.L. Hammack and Laura D. Childers. He was a hard worker and did various jobs throughout his life to make a living for his family. Victor farmed at an early age to support his parents and siblings, served his country during the Vietnam War, worked in construction and oilfield, welded, was a truck driver, then later became a small business owner with FedEx Ground.
He lived his early life in Alice Texas where he met his wife Carolyn Sue McCleery. He eventually moved his family to Inez Texas where they both found a home, raised their family and he spent the rest of his life. Victor loved to hunt and fish, spend time with family, and enjoyed an “occasionally” adult beverage.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Stayton Alexander Hammack. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, sons Christopher (Danielle), Jeremy (Dawn), Jason (Jennifer), 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 1 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Bischoff Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
