Thomas R. Talbott, Jr., devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather (Papa) and great grandfather passed away on Friday the 14th of March 2025 at the age of 87. Thomas was born on the 6th of March 1938 to Thomas R. Talbott, Sr. and Gertrude Schroeder Talbott.
Thomas proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for three year and twenty-four days.
Thomas was a heavy equipment operator, insulator, and pipe fitter for Brown & Root, Dupont, and Alcoa. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing, hunting and spending time with his numerous grandchildren and great grandkids. He was happiest when he was outside and working with his hands or on the water trying to catch some catfish..
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Ramona Janiece Dumas Talbott; daughters, Stephanie (Timmy) Goodman of Seadrift, Tammy (Ken) Chasteen of Nocona, Pam (David Sr.) Priour of Placedo; son Richard Talbott of Alice; brother Joe Talbott Sr of Victoria; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Thomas Joseph Talbott and two sisters Angie Harvell and Jenny Howell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday the 20th of March from one o’clock until three o’clock in the afternoon at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be held ten o’clock in the morning on Friday the 21st of March at Crescent Valley Cemetery with Pastor Tim Smith officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Priour, Jr., James Holt III, Austin Talbott, Trenton Goodman, Ethan Talbott and Curtis Priour. Honorary pallbearers are David Priour Sr. and Timmy Goodman.
Following the graveside service a reception will be held at the VFW Hall, 2001 Lova Drive, Victoria.
