Thomas Peter Staha, 84, of Victoria passed away December 5, 2016. He was born June 29, 1932 in Hallettsville to the late Val William and Anastasia Hanak Staha. Thomas served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a good father and a man of integrity who was not afraid of hard work. He was a carpenter and enjoyed wood working. He could fix anything and was a master of repurposing.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Wieland Staha; daughters, Diane Staha Crabtree (Keith Weiser) and Lynne Staha Davidson and Dan Davidson, all of Victoria; son, Scott Staha (Vada) of Corpus Christi; sisters, Judith Aulick, Elizabeth Barnabei and Mary Ann Staha, all of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Kristen Bachus of Dallas, Holly Crabtree Jones (Aaron) of Jersey City, New Jersey and Kyle Davidson of Corpus Christi. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Sutherland and Eleanor Hester; brothers, Val Robert Staha, Harry Staha, Raymond Staha and Carl Staha.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday, December 9, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Father Jasper officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at Colletoville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Weiser, Dan Davidson, Kyle Davidson, Deric Sutherland, Michael Sutherland and Gerald Sutherland.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
