Samantha Garcia of Victoria was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was called to heaven on Sunday, July 10, after a long battle with cancer. She is now resting peacefully in the mantle of Jesus. She was born October 6, 1968 in Victoria to the late Frank G. Garcia, Jr and Diola S. Zamora.
Samantha, a life-long Catholic and an active member of the ACTS family, lived by her faith, which guided her generous, joyous, and peaceful nature and strengthened those around her. She was a selfless, compassionate, and loving soul with an infectious smile. Even when suffering the most, she put up a brave front and prayed for and thought of others instead of herself. Being a grandmother gave her much joy and happiness and was her incentive for continuing to survive. A hairstylist by trade, she co-owned Diva Hair Salon. She was the catalyst behind the “Fight for Sam” organization which provided resources and assistance to those battling cancer.
Samantha is survived by the loves of her life: wife, Tabithia “Tabby” San Miguel; son, Christian “Clipper Chris” Garcia of Victoria; and grandson, Christian “Sugar Bee” Garcia of Victoria. She is also survived by her parents, David L. and Diola Zamora of Victoria; and brother, Myckel Garcia of Victoria and Christopher Gonzalez of Victoria; sister, Cynthia Gibson of Bloomington; paternal grandparents Theresa Garcia and Pilar Zamora. In addition, Samantha is also survived by many loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her father; maternal grandmother, Sophia Lara; paternal grandfather Frank Garcia, Sr.; and maternal grandfather Sostenes Sanchez.
