She was born December 29, 1930 to the late R.J. and Lillie Lueke Etlinger in Yoakum, Texas.
Ruval enjoyed playing dominoes, landscaping, and fishing. Her love of playing Duplicate Bridge gained her the title of “Life Master”.
She was a renowned world traveler especially to the European countries. She truly loved her family. Ruval had a charismatic personality that drew people to her.
Ruval is survived by her sister, Rosemary (Joe) Kahanek and Gerry Boehm; her children, Patrice and husband Tommy Lemmons, Gregory Shandera, Cecelia and husband Coulter Baker, Kevin and wife Kelli Shandera, Connie and husband Russell Hayes; grandchildren, Lisa and husband Gerald Dasbach, John Drennan, Boone and Jackson Baker; and great grandchildren, Kelsey and Kameron Griner; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Patrick Shandera, grandson, Jason Gaskey; and brother-in-law, Buddy Boehm.
On Saturday, March 18, 2017, a Rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm with Deacon Steve Borowicz officiating, followed by a 1:00 pm Memorial Mass to be held at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Patrick Knippenberg officiating . Private Family Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Deacon Dennis Kutach.
