Roy Earl Beyer, 84, of Victoria passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011, in Victoria. He was born March 8, 1927, in Kingsbury, Texas, to the late Adolph and Elizabeth Ulrich Beyer. Roy was employed as an Instrument and Electrical Supervisor at DuPont, and he retired after thirty-seven years of service; he also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Roy loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Beyer is survived by his wife, Sallie Jones Tate Beyer of Victoria; daughter, Trudy Derrick and husband, Joe of Victoria; sons, Roy D. Beyer and wife, Clyde Ruth of Victoria, Byron Beyer and Char of Austin; step-son, Bob Tate and wife, Veronica of Victoria; brother, Pete Beyer and wife, Margie of Prairie Lea, Texas; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Beyer was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Beyer; one sister and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011, from 4-5 pm at the Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 31, 2011, at 10 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with Rev. Mickey Ewing officiating with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Derrick, Davy Derrick, Terry Derrick, Frank Kulik, Brian Tate and Brad Tate.
