Roy R. Alvarez Jr.

Roy R. Alvarez, Jr., 43, of Victoria passed away Monday, September 22, 2014. He was born August 27, 1971, in Victoria to Roy Alvarez, Sr. of San Antonio and Rose Garcia Alvarez of Victoria. Roy was employed by Ranews Inc. as a truck driver. He was also a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his son, Roy Alvarez, III of Victoria; sister, Pearl Alvarez Swartz of Hondo; brother, Vincent Alvarez of Victoria; long time partner, Brooke Brandon; granddaughter, Cora Isabelle Alvarez.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Esmeralda Alvarez.

The family will receive friends at Rosewood Funeral Chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 24, 2014, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Alvarez, Jr., Raymond Vasquez, Jr., J. C. Garcia, Genaro Macias, Tino Valladez and Michael Garcia (Danny Alvarez).
