Roberta was born to George and Ann Lyles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 1, 1958. Roberta graduated as valedictorian of University High School and went to Harding University to pursue a degree in nutrition. While at Harding, Roberta met and married the love of her life, Steve Turner. She moved to Lubbock, Texas and finished her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. She later earned a master's degree from Wayland Baptist University in the field of education. Together they have 2 children, Melissa and Aaron.
Roberta would spend the majority of her career teaching various grade levels where she would be known for her love of math. Roberta and Steve retired in Victoria, Texas, and she spent the last of her days taking care of her five grandchildren.
Roberta will be best remembered by her unwavering faith in her Savior, her unconditional love for her family, her incredible spirit of toughness and her unmatched cooking and sewing skills.
Roberta is preceded in death by George and Ann Lyles. She is survived by husband Steve; daughter Melissa with her spouse Dustin, and 3 daughters Harper, Julia, and Catherine; and son Aaron with his spouse Sarah, and daughter Belle and son Adam.

A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria, Texas, on December 9 at 11:00 am.
