Raymond Amador Sr. passed away, suddenly leaving his loved ones to figure out how to deal with their grief. He passed on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at the age of 84 years old. He was born on August 30th, 1940 in Moulton, Texas to the late Sotero Sr. and Josephine Amador. He was married to Ursulita Amador for 62 years.
Raymond was a retired concrete truck driver of Alamo Ready Mix after, he took great pride in the lawns he serviced for his customers who all became friends. Retirement gave him plenty of time to do what he really loved and that was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was labeled as a great neighbor of Rosebud Ave. the street he lived on for over 50 years. He was a strong believer of “helping thy neighbor”. The only thing that gives his family a little peace with his sudden passing is knowing he is reunited with his wife and they without a doubt are dancing in the sky.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Raymond Amador, Jr. (Geeta C.) and Johnny Amador, Sr. (Norma); daughters, Cynthia Amador, Mary Santana (Felix, Jr.), Delores Torres (Richard, Jr.) and Brenda Herrera (Joe); 27 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Raymond is also survived by a large extended family, numerous siblings and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, his daughter Margaret Arriaga and Sandra Pena; father, Sotero Amador Sr. and mother, Josephine Amador and siblings.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory at 1pm, followed by rosary at 1:30pm. Funeral mass held at 2pm, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Amador Jr., Johnny Amador Sr., Felix Santana, Jr., Richard Torres Jr., Joe Herrera, and Christopher Muniz. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
