Peggy Jean Pair Bivens, 96, of Inez, our sweet angel on earth, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2024. Peggy was born August 8, 1928 in Iowa Park, Texas to the late Jewell Josephine Taylor and Gip Haskel Payne.
Peggy was an accomplished seamstress making and altering many prom dresses, wedding dresses and cheerleader outfits for her family and the public. She worked 30 years at Detar Hospital in Medical Records and as a Patient Advocate. She played the piano for the SNU unit at Detar, churches and nursing homes for span of 75 years. She was an avid Astros fan. She loved God/Family/the Astros.
Peggy is survived by her children, Diann Dunlap (Hague) of Corpus Christi, Tim Pair (Susan) of Ganado, Scott Pair (Cindy) of Victoria, Tamye Crockett (David) of Victoria, Larry Berkman (Tammy) of Marble Falls, Carlton Bivens Jr. of El Campo, Gary Bivens (Lisa) of Victoria, Edward Bivens (Tammy) of Victoria; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Talmadge Mac Pair, Jay Berkman, Carlton L. Bivens and sisters, Connie Hartleib and Betty Moss.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9-11 am at First Baptist Church Victoria. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 am with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A reception and fellowship will follow the burial at Son Valley Ranch church.
Pallbearers are Clay Crockett, Michael Weaver, Brett Pair, Jody Pair, Kyle Pair, Wayne McDonald, Jon Carswell and Tyler Dunn.
