Patricia H. Hertz

Patricia H. Hertz, 72, of Edna, TX passed away on May 26, 2011 at her home in El Toro. Patsy was born on June 14, 1938 in Jackson County to the late Leon Gwosdz and Brigid Snoga Gwosdz. Patsy was the former owner of El Toro Grocery and a longtime rancher and cattlewoman in Jackson County. Patricia was an active Board Member in the Lavaca Regional Water Planning Group, Jackson County Beef Committee, Jackson County Cattle Raisers Association, LaSalle Landing Water Supply Corporation. She was also a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Theresa of the Little Flower # 1350.

Survivors; husband of 53 Years, John J. Hertz; daughters, Cynthia Erdelt (Chris ), Cheryl Hertz (Monroe Schroeder);sisters, Evelyn Eisman (John) , Carolyn Koop (Danny), Ginger Wagner (Pat), Mary Thompson (Wes), Kathy Holdgraf (Wayne); brother, Gene Gwosdz (Margaret); and her only grandchild, Taylor John McChesney who was the apple of her eye and fondly known to him as “BaBa “

Preceded in death by her parents, beloved son, John M. Hertz; brothers, Emanuel Gwosdz & Clarence Gwosdz.

A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, June 4, 2011, 10:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 am, Rev. Johnson Owusu – Boateng, officiating.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
