Myrtle Faye Rogers, 91, a longtime resident of Victoria passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013. She was born July 3, 1922 in Kirkland (Childress County) TX to the late Arthur A and Myrtle White McCallum. Mrs. Rogers was well known throughout the community in the nursing profession. She began her career at DeTar Hospital and worked at various hospitals, and nursing homes in Victoria for many years, until retiring at age 75. She was a long time member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Hall of Alvin (formally of Victoria), Mary Faye Kemple of New Braunfels, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Rogers; sister, Mary Filley; and brother, George McCallum.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 beginning at 12 noon, with a funeral services to follow at 2 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Interment will follow in Wood High Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Densman, Michael Kemple, Michael Filley, George Filley, Bill Burnham, Darren Barber, Bryan Domingez and Stephen Kemple. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Barber and Alex Kemple.
