Michael was a hard-working husband and father that took pride in working for the railroad for 24 years. He also took pride in his own lawn mowing business and loved his clients. He was proud of his family’s accomplishments and loved them unconditionally. He took pride in being a part of the student body of the Stroman Raiders. He had a love for baseball and it played a major role of who he was. Michael was a friend to anybody who needed one and he loved them wholeheartedly; he was a one of a kind friend, husband, father, brother and son.
Michael is survived by his wife, Alicia Paredes Monroy; daughters, Anastasia Navarro (Anthony) of San Antonio, Bethany Monroy (Jordan) of Victoria, Christiana Monroy of Victoria, Abigail Fontanez of Victoria; son, Ethan Fontanez of Victoria; father, Miguel Monroy of Bloomington, sister, Michelle Mendoza (Larry) of Victoria; niece, Savannah Mendoza (Sonya) of Victoria; nephew, Michael Ryan Mendoza (Brianna) of San Antonio and great-nephew, Blakely Mendoza.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda Monroy.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 4-6 PM at Colonial Funeral Home (mask and social distancing required).
Funeral Services are Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10 AM at Faith Family Church with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. (Mask and social distancing required)
Pallbearers are Anthony Navarro, Drew Ikonomos, Ethan Fontanez, John Gonzales, Jordan Williams, Michael Mendoza, Pedro Rodriguez, Richie Reyes.
Honorary pallbearers are Antonio Paredes, Cip Danas, Daniel Sutton, Darrell Talley, Kurtis Landry, David Paredes, Rick Elizondo, Ryan Cano, Jacob Sauseda and John Ikonomos.
