Mary Virginia Scherer

Mary Virginia Conti Scherer, 76, of Victoria, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010. She was born February 25, 1934 in Victoria, the daughter of Gerome Frank and Virginia Rossi Conti. She was the co-owner of Custom Interiors, Inc. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Holy Family Altar Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court of St. Ann.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Oscar Scherer of Victoria; sons Mark Conti Scherer of Austin and Gregory Oscar Scherer and wife Carol Ann of Victoria; granddaughters Amelia Virginia Scherer and Caroline Marie Scherer both of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; half sister Valarie Conti and half brother Gerome Frank Conti Jr.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Reverend Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery II.

Pallbearers include Charles Kutchka Sr., Larry Tomanek, Fred Kloesel, Pat Taglibue, Tommy Schlein and Jimmy Miori.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Texas, Our Lady of Victory School or St. Joseph High School.
