Mary Resendez, 75, of Victoria, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Mary was born in Tampico, Mexico on April 9, 1943 to the late Patricio Del Angel and Florentina Vasquez Benitez. She was Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside tending to her plants and pets, especially her beloved dog, KiKi. She enjoyed going out to eat her favorite meal, “steak and shrimp” and loved going to play bingo.
Survivors include her sisters, Virginia Fuente (husband Tony), and Alma Enriquez (husband Alfonso); sons, Jerry Resendez, Ernie Resendez (wife Yolanda), Noel Resendez (wife Julie); daughters, Erica Allen (husband Bobby) and Marlena Castillo (husband Nathan); grandchildren, Jacqueline Nicole Ochoa, Noel Christopher Resendez, Marc Anthony Resendez, Eric Ryan Resendez, Josh Evan Resendez, Luke Matthew Resendez, Angel Darren Resendez, Trae Ray Allen, Geronimo “Moe” Lee Allen, Dre Edward Allen, Laela Rose Castillo, Nylah Marie Castillo, Niko Jay Castillo, and Nina L. Ramirez; great grandchildren, Gavin Ochoa, Elias Ochoa, Jocelyn Ochoa, Noah Resendez, Nolan Resendez, Hayden Vasquez, Landon Resendez, Harlow Resendez, Chloee Resendez, and Emree Resendez; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her baby son, Mark Anthony Resendez; and her husband, Geronimo “Jerry” Resendez.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Noel Christopher Resendez, Marc Anthony Resendez, Eric Ryan Resendez, Josh Evan Resendez, Luke Matthew Resendez and Angel Resendez.
