

Luisa Cornejo Gonzales, 87, of Victoria, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was born on October 11, 1927 in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of the late Federico and Maria Moncevais Cornejo. Luisa grew up in Brownsville and raised her family in Victoria. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and as a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, John (Debra) Gonzales of Rockwall, TX, Mary (Albert) Torres of McAllen, TX, Joe (Cheryl) Gonzales of Mesquite, TX, Jorge Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM, Melinda (Alex) Wesar and Jesse Gonzales, all of Victoria; grandchildren, Erik Gonzales, Troy Bernhagen, Veronica (Brandon) Moreno, Kimberly Gonzales, Megan Gonzales, Marissa Torres, Albert Torres, Jr. and Johnathan Wesar; great granddaughter, Alyssa Moreno; sister-in-law, Anita Cornejo, and many other relatives.
Luisa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Juan A. Gonzales and brother, Andres Cornejo.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Rev. Jasper Liggio officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
