Lillian Fuller, age 87, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011. She was born October 9, 1923 in Selma , Alabama to the late Oscar O. and Bessie Hollingshead Strickland. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She was retired, and had worked as a waitress for Totah’s Restaurant. She was an avid bridge player. Her family was very special to her, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlights of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Lewis of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Nancy McCord and husband Earl of Victoria; sons, Robert Cummings and wife Bette of Springfield, Missouri, and Steve Cummings and wife Mary Ann of San Antonio; grandchildren, Brian Lewis, Angela McCord McGarity, Sean McCord, Megan Cummings, and Robert “Trey” Cummings; great grandchildren, Leyton McGarity, Meg Lewis, Lana McGarity, and Edi Lewis; sisters, Virginia Kammerer and husband Will, and Janie Bannister, both of Florida; and brother, Thomas I. Strickland and wife Bobbie of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Fuller; sisters, Lucy Bender, Mattielyn “Pat” Duncan, Bessie Cardwell, and Mary Gladys Rollins; and brothers, James O. Strickland, Cecil D. Strickland, and Oscar F. Strickland.
Visitation will be held 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Monday, February 14, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Grace Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dan Fultz officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery . Serving as pallbearers will be Sean McCord, Robert “Trey” Cummings, Todd McGarity, Earl McCord, Angela McCord McGarity, and Megan Cummings.
