Kristi Kay Chavez, 36, of Victoria joined the angels in heaven Sunday, October 3, 2010, where she was also welcomed by her grandparents, Ted Strain, Roger Pope, Henry and Bernice Payne, and her cousin, Ted-Michael Strain. She was born December 18, 1973, in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Nita Strain Payne of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Roger David Pope of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Richard Payne of Forney.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughter, Kayli Waddell; her son, Louis Chavez, both of Victoria; sisters, Magan Payne Wiggins, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Alicia Pope Furman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jamee Pope of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michelle Boucher of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Paige Payne of Paris, Texas; brothers, Wade Payne of Paris, Texas, and Richie Payne of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; grandmothers, Mama Jet Strain of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Emma Jones of Tucson, Arizona; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 3 pm Friday, October 8, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Rev. Marvin Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
