Our world became a lot quieter on April 27, 2019 as Kevin Mitchell Arnold, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side, went to be with his Lord after a valiant battle with Leukemia. While he left us too soon, he never wasted time and made the most of each day.
Kevin was born on March 5, 1962 in Victoria, Texas and his parents were Victor H. and Mary Ann Arnold. He was a proud member of the VHS Class of 1980.
He was a loving son, husband, brother, father, Papa and friend. Kevin found the love of his life in Tammy Tate; they were married on January 19, 2002.
Kevin never met a stranger and used his outgoing personality in a life of sales beginning at Arnold TV and Appliance Center. His most recent career with Jaco Industrial Supply had him traveling throughout the nation. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1329 and could be found heading up the bar-b-que teams every March and August. He donated unlimited amounts of time cooking bar-b-que for the OLV Fall Festival and school bar-b-que, frying fish for the youth group fundraisers and still found time to help family and friends with any job that required a “handy man.” He gave a lot! Kevin was most proud of his family with a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He always looked forward to September for the opening of dove and football seasons. When he did find time to relax, it was in the most impressive mancave in Shenandoah where he entertained friends and watched his favorite teams, the Texas Longhorns and Houston Texans. He was the life of the party many times over.
Kevin is survived by his wife and parents; sons, Travis Arnold (Katie), Trevor Arnold (Michelle), Chaz Logan (Lauren) and Kennon Logan; sister, Vicki Pyatt (Ned) and brothers, Michael Arnold (Sarah), David Arnold (Erin), Dan Arnold and Robert Arnold (Nancy); grandsons, Haylen Mitchell Arnold, Oliver and Caston Logan; nieces and nephews, Jordan and Jacob Pyatt, Star Stimmel, Hugh and Alena Arnold; and cousins that he adored more like sisters, Sallie Ann Sullivan, Kellye Sullivan, Mary Sullivan and Amy (Sullivan) Lara; Jarrod Sullivan (Godson), Ethan and Braeden (Goddaughter) Lara. He loved all his many friends that were more of an extended family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Hulda Arnold, Frazier and Edith Treadaway.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Hall, Dale Matula, Brad Kraatz, Jeff Tigrett, Carl (Coco) Hubenak, James (Bubba) Wagner and all his Brother Knights.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 9:30 am at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10 am with The Very Rev. Gary Janak officiating.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Kevin’s life at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Airline and Ben Jordan following the funeral mass. Come share stories of his life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Leukemia Foundation, the OLV Scholarship Fund or the Kevin Arnold GoFundMe.
