Kandis Rene Vickery

Kandis Rene Vickery, 30, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, from complications of diabetes. The angels called for Kandis much sooner than we had planned. Though our grief is great, we know she is in a better place – free of diets, pain, needles and dialysis – enjoying the joys of Heaven. Kandis was born March 4, 1980, in Victoria. She was a 1998 graduate of Victoria High School, attended Victoria College and had been employed by Wood-Chem and Citizens Medical Center.

She is survived by her parents, Lonnie and Karen Koenning Vickery; Michael Ryan and his wife, Connie; sister, Kelsey Vickery; brother, Hayden Ryan; step-sister, Macey Hines, all of Victoria; grandparents, Barbara and Bobby Baca of Victoria; Roy Allen and Marilyn Koenning of Westhoff; Peggy and Lonnie Vickery, Sr. of LaWard; Laura Vickery of Austin; great-grandmothers, Frances Warzecha and Mamie Dell Koenning, both of Westhoff.

Kandis was preceded in death by a grandmother, Waldine Koontz Roberson.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7 pm Friday, August 6, 2010, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, followed by a Rosary at 7 pm led by Deacon Jim Koenig.

Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, August 7, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Anthony “Father Tony” Boateng-Mensah officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Koenning, Roy Shane Koenning, Tyler Vickery, Lanny Vickery, Mark Stephens and Stanley Stephens.
