Juanita C. Rubio

She was born in Victoria County on July 21, 1925 to the late Guadalupe Cantu and Rosa Gamez Cantu.

As well as raising and loving her children, Juanita worked for the Tom O’Connor family as a cook and retired after many years of dedicated service.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Hernandez; grandchildren, Thomas G. (wife Mary Helen) Rubio, Thomas V. (wife Amanda) Rubio, Jesse C. (wife Erica) Rubio, Jr., Richard Garcia, Anthony Rubio, Imelda Salas, Orlando Salas, Michael (wife Rachael) Salas, Randy Rubio and Stephanie (husband Roland) Soza; great grandchildren,Olga (husband John Paul) Esparza, Richard Salinas, Arianna soza, Ava Soza, Skylar Barrera, Tylar Salas, Ty Salas, Danielle Salas, Rhiannon Salas, Alana Salas, Mia Salas and Macy Salas; and great-great grandchildren, Angel Rubio, John Esparza, Matthew Esparza, Hannah Esparza and Fra'laysha Salinas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Pedro "Pete" C. Rubio, Gilbert C. Rubio and Jesse C. Rubio; sisters, Irene Aguillon, Mikiyah Martinez and Solia Martinez; and brothers, Ricardo Cantu and Guadalupe Cantu, Jr.

The family will hold a visitation on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday August 31, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home.

Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria, Texas.

Pallbearers are Jesse C. Rubio, Thomas V. Rubio, Anthony Rubio, David Rubio, Ernest Aguillon and Orlando Salas.
