JOYCE KATHLEEN MILLER, VICTORIA – Joyce Kathleen Miller, 61, of Victoria, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hallettsville, Texas on August 18, 1956 to Hilbert and Joline (Leopold) Etzler. Joyce graduated from Victoria High School in 1974. She met her husband, Charles “Tommy” Miller while attending Victoria College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in Accounting. While attending college, she was a student worker and upon graduation, transitioned to a full-time employee as a teacher and institutional research analyst until her retirement in 2014. Joyce married her college sweetheart on April 9, 1983 and had three children, Jonathan, Katie, and Paul. While raising her children, Joyce was an active volunteer for school activities and band boosters, earning her the title of “Momma Miller” for countless school-age children. She was an active leader in Girl Scouts and worked side by side with her husband in Royal Ambassadors and Boy Scouts. Joyce was a proud Navy mom visiting Jonathan at his port cities, an active grandmother playing with Katie’s children, and a computer whiz passing on that love to Paul, who also works for Victoria College. In her spare time, she pursued her love for quilting, crocheting, cross-stitch, and most recently stain-glass work, winning several awards over the years at On My Own Time, a city-wide competition.
