Dad, you heard the call of God, you took his hand and so you could not stay another day to laugh, to love and to play. But you have found peace now because your life has been full. 
With the intercession of St. Joseph(Patron of Departing souls) on whose feast day you were born into the transient world and St. Anthony of Padua on whose feast day you were born into eternal life, we trust that you have been gathered on the way, enfolded by the truth and crowned with eternal life, Jesus Christ. Death is an unavoidable fact that we all fear to accept. Joe, who became a father to me and my brother after the death of our biological father was a real Dad. We are able to reach the Altar of the Lord as his priests in the Catholic Church through his love, support and care. Dad, it has always been the dream of Rev Chris and I to see you in person one day, but God wants it in another way. You will forever remain in our prayers and in our hearts. For us you are still our dad and you still live with us. 
May the Good Lord who always rewards his children for any act of love rendered to Him grant you his peace. 
And to our Mum, Geraldine and all the family, our love is always with you. We all love Dad but God loves him most. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us in this difficult moment of our sorrows.

"I'm sorry to hear that Joe had passed away and was disappointed that I was out of town and couldn't attend the funeral.  Joe was a very honest, hardworking man and I am thankful that I was able to spend time with him at work, St Mary's and in the Knights of Columbus.

Mrs Jurica, Roy and Donna,  I will always have fond memories of Mr. Joe.

My grandpa - people knew him mostly as Joe or Joseph, and one of the toughest men I've ever known simply referred to him as Daddy.  All my life I called him my Papaw. Over the years, I've been blessed to have spent innumerable hours with him and he taught me a lot of things along the way.  My Papaw's sense of humor was a hallmark of his personality, just as much as daily mass, praying the Rosary, the Lone Star in the garage fridge, a Ford truck in the driveway and a John Deere mower in the garage.  My Papaw was always a true example of a strong, faithful, hard working, honest, and respectable man who made time for his family and friends and who we all held (and still hold) in the highest regard. 

Pap was a true Texan - a farmer and a plant worker.  despite his sense of humor he was a very tough man, physically and emotionally.  In my lifetime I only ever saw him cry once - when he learned his baby girl, my Aunt Ann was killed in a car crash.  His tears could have been captured and sold by the milliliter to weak men to make them tough. 

As a kid I could count on Papaw (and Mamaw) to take us boys out to DuPont park to swim and BBQ and spend our summer days in the sun at the pool or in the shade under the big oak trees while Pap barbecued for us all. My Papaw was one heck of a domino player and could toss washers with the best of them, and he passed that on to my brothers and me over a lifetime of summers.  Every Father's Day weekend, Pap "sponsored" a family trip to Mustang Towers in Port Aransas so we could all spend the week together - all we had to do was show up and have fun.  When I was a boy, the ice cream truck would come jingling along the beach and Pap would flag the driver and buy all of us kids ice cream.  When I became a father, he did the same thing for my kids. 

His hands knew a lifetime of hard work as he religiously farmed the fields.  His embrace held three generations of children in his family line, and the memories he made with those generations will long stay in our hearts.  His dedication to his family, church, and community are the mark to which I strive.  

In my selfishness, I miss my Papaw immensely and hurt because I know I will never again make a new memory with him or hear his voice - but I know my grandpa's place in God's Kingdom was reserved long ago and he is now reunited with Ann, who's been waiting for almost 17 years to hold her daddy's hand again and welcome him home.

Geraldine, may the Holy Spirit be with you and your family in a special way during this time.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of Joe.  It's a shame that we get old and die.  I first met Joe in about July of 1960 at duPont.  He trained me on at least one job out there.  We worked together in the same area for many years.  Joe was promoted to a foreman a few years before me in the Adipic Power House.  I was promoted in 1974. I was moved out of the area for about five years, back to the old ADN area, then back to the Power House in 1982.  In our later years with duPont, they did away with Area Supervisors and gave the foremans (first Line Supervisors) propriertorship over parts of the area.  We were asked for our opinions as to who should be propriertor of what part of the area.  I reccommended Joe to be over the Boiler Area and that's what he got.  I enjoyed working with Joe over the years.  I enjoyed his friendliness and humor.  He will not be forgotten.  May God be with you and keep you strong.

Sorry for your loss.  Joe was a really great guy.  He was my boss (More of a friend) for a number of years and I had great respect for him.  He treated everyone fair and with respect and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. A real swell guy. I truly believe he is still here with us just in a different way. Aunt Geraldine, Donna, Roy, Jerald our hearts and prayers are with you at this time, we are so sorry that we can't be there for you as you can't be here with us!!  We are with you in spirit, we can only hope that Pop and Uncle Joe are together with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts!

Donna, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father.  You will be in my prayers.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you in this difficult time.  Joe was a good man and I enjoyed working and visiting with him.
