Dr. Joseph F. Carbone, 90, passed away February 17, 2013. A World War II flyingtiger has departed on his last mission, destination his eternal home. Joseph was born February 6, 1923 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the late Francesco and Lucia LaPira Carbone.
Dr. Carbone was licensed to practice medicine in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Missouri, Hawaii and Texas. He was a graduate of University of Miami, Kirsville College of Medicine. He also was an accomplished musician.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Madlyn Carbone, special nieces, Vera Carbone Wittig, Dr. Paula Carbone, Lucia Carbone and various other nephews and nieces; and a longtime friend and sister-in-law, Pauline Carbone.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 22, 2013, at 7 PM., at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 11:30 AM., at Resurrection Cemetery, with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.
