James M. Terrell, Sr., was born the son of, Willie and Exie Lewis Terrell on January 21, 1950, in Victoria, Texas. He was the youngest child out of 6 siblings and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age.
James received his education in the Victoria Independent School District, where he graduated from Victoria High School in 1968 as a member of the Varsity Stingaree Football Team. He earned 3 full football scholarships to Arizona State University, El Paso State University, and Sul Ross State University.
James passed away at the age of 73 in Prairieville, LA at his daughter and son-in-laws home.
James was employed by Union Carbide for twenty-five years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing dominos, and cooking BBQ.
James leaves to cherish his life and love for his children: Tundra Terrell Nunez (Thurman) of Prairieville, LA; James Terrell, Jr. (Jamie) of Victoria, TX; grandchildren, Dadrian Nunez, Braidan Nunez, Katrielle Nunez, Bryan Rangel, and Michael Rangel; two sisters Georgene Levigne of Victoria, TX, Patsy Coleman of Houston, TX, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Exie Terrell; his two brothers, Louis Terrell and Floyd Terrell, Sr.; one sister, Ordie Mae Perry.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10am-11 am at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to begin at 11 am with Pastor Vernon Garza officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
