James Felton (Jack) Moore, 88, of Victoria, passed away June 22, 2018. He was born February 12, 1930 in Laredo, Texas to the late James Alger Moore and Anna Faye Felton Moore. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Victoria.
Jack spent his youth in the small Texas oil-town of Mirando City. When he was 16 years old his father died and he began working in the oilfields as a roustabout, roughneck and derrickman. Jack served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as an Army Airborne Ranger. He graduated from Texas A & I University in Kingsville in 1955 with a BBA degree. He then married the love of his life, Carol in 1957. He became employed by Gulf Oil Corporation and retired after 29 years as a Marketing Director for Louisiana and Arkansas. He and Carol moved to Victoria in 1985 and embraced ranching full time.
Jack was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw. His friends were life-long. Old friends were important to him and he remained loyal to them from childhood.
Jack had a sharp mind, keen sense of humor and a dry wit, bringing laughter to his friends and family. He enjoyed humor in return and was always the first to laugh at a good joke. He will be missed by many.
Jack is survived by his wife, Carol; his two sons, James Kevin Moore and wife, Desiree of Yoakum; Randall Alan Moore and wife, Patti of New Orleans; and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Jordan Rae Moore of Yoakum; and numerous cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
