James Hunt

James Hunt, 67, of Edna passed away November 5, 2023. He was born April 16, 1956 in Wharton to William Wallace and Evelyn Hunt. James was an Oilfield Contractor and owner of W.W. Hunt Contractors. He loved spending time with family, enjoyed golfing, hunting and had a blast fishing with his girls and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Koop Hunt; daughters, Jayme Bynum (Robert) and Kayla Randolph (Taylor); sister, Sharon Kinsfather (Delano); brothers, Bill Hunt (Carol), Dennis Hunt (Diane), and Jesse Hunt; 2 grandsons, Seth Hunt and Nicolas Cantu; father-in-law, George Koop; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Billie Koop; and niece, Kristen Kinsfather.

Visitation will be held at LaWard Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. The immediate family will have private graveside services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LaWard Baptist Church or Hospice of South Texas.
