Hilda C. Vanelli, 91, of Victoria, passed away on October 28, 2012. She was born on July 2, 1921 in High Hill, Texas to the late Josef Hilscher and Mary Goedrich Hilscher. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. Hilda was very witty and was one you could always count on to be there when you needed her. She loved to quilt and bake - she was an excellent cook and loved having the family over for meals. She enjoyed playing wahoo with her family and friends. Hilda and Lawrence were married 71 years and were a beautiful example of love and commitment to one another in the sacrament of marriage.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Harrell (Dan) of Spring, TX; sons, Allen Vanelli (Bonnie) of Inez, TX and Danny Vanelli (Peggy) of Taylor, TX; sister, Alvina Shapiro; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Lawrence Vanelli and 4 brothers, Emil, Alfred, Charles and Hubert Hilscher.
A Rosary will be recited 7:00pm on Thursday, November 1 at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, November 2 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral with Father Michael Rother officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mike Vanelli, Alfred Vanelli, Aaron Vanelli, Cole Vanelli, Zach Harrell and Becky Vanelli.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Cathedral.
