Glen was raised in South Texas where his family followed the oilfield and he later graduated from Falfurrias High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954.
He married Jo Ann Pesek in April 1956. Together they raised their four children, Steven, David, Robert, and Joan. He worked over 30 years for DuPont as an operator and retired in 1998. Glen enjoyed working with anything mechanical “The fix-it man”, visiting with people, and supporting our military troops. Glen attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society and a life member of the VFW.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jo Ann Pesek Bone; sons, Steven (Beverly) Bone, David (Amelia) Bone and Robert (Alisa) Bone; daughter, Joan Bone; grandchildren, Amber, Karen, Kevin (Kellie) Bone, Danette (Jason) Mares, Audrey, Sheridan Hadley, Broderic and Aric Gonzalez, Hannah and Hayley; and great grandchildren, Cooper & Cutter Mares and Maverick Bone.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Bone.
The family will gather for a visitation on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Steven Vacek presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum with Full Military Honors presented under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, DAV, VFW, et al.
Pallbearers are Kevin Bone, Broderic Gonzalez, Aric Gonzalez, Harold Parker, Tyler Parker, Mike Munsch and Jason Mares. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Kocian and David Mikulenka
Memorial donations may be made to the Boys Scouts or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
