Evelyn J. Hahn of Victoria went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday the 12th of March 2025 at the age of 87. Evelyn was born on the 18th of August 1937 in Cuero to Walter W. and Hilda Fehner Hingst.
Evelyn was dedicated to her faith and it was evident in her many hours of service. She was a charter member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, The Holy Family Financial Board, a Charter member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters Court #2665, co-chair of the Auction for the church festivals and a member Holy Family Catholic Church Quilting group which she helped organize.
Evelyn married the love of her life, Hilbert Hahn on April 24, 1954 and together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage. Hilbert and Evelyn had one of the truest love stories that will forever be remembered by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We can only hope and pray that their kind of love will continue to be passed down throughout the present generations and future generations to come.
Evelyn’s greatest joy and source of pride was being mother to her three children, Janice Lewis and husband Jason of Victoria, Keith Hahn and wife Jean of Victoria and David Hahn and wife Pennie of Victoria.
In addition to her three children, Evelyn is survived by her husband Hilbert; and was affectionately known as “Grandma”, “Granny” and “NeNe” to her six grandchildren Cory (Lamar) Hahn, Michelle (Carter) Clemmons, Dustin (Valerie) Hahn, Allison (Sam) Wells, Jared (Carroll) Lewis and Jaden Lewis and seven great grandchildren, Natalie Hahn, David Hahn, Corbin Clemmons, Luke Hahn, Lane Hahn, Brock Wells and Collins Wells.
In Evelyn’s spare time she loved playing games and loved playing cards with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hilda Hingst; her beloved son, David Hahn and her sister Neva Joyce Johnson.
Friends are cordially invited to greet the family during a visitation on Monday the 17th of March from ten o’clock in the morning until eleven o’clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Mass of Christian Burial to commence at eleven o’clock. Following a brief reception the family will gather for a private entombment service.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Cory Hahn, Dustin Hahn, Jared Lewis, Jaden Lewis, Carter Clemmons and Sam Wells.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
Our family will forever be grateful to May, Josie and especially JoAna for their many years of devotion to our mother. Special thanks are extended to her many great neighbors for all their love and attention.
