Eric Rene Vasquez

Eric enjoyed hunting and guns, and spending time outdoors. He was very special to his Family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Sally; father, Oscar; brothers, John Vasquez and Zachary Vasquez; grandparents, Isabel and Amelia Rubio, and Jesse and Frances Vasquez; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his aunts, Chris Flores and Mary Vasquez; and cousin, Norma Garcia.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Vega, Taylor Vega, Kevin Vasquez, Kenny Rivera, A. J. Flores, Bubba Flores, Christian Flores, and William Creager. Honorary pallbearers include Baby Ray Garcia, Adrian Vasquez, Baby Jesse Vasquez, Jonathan Chapa, Rene Garcia, Jason Cisneros, and Jacob Mercado.

The Family would like to thank Fr. William Moorman, Daniel A. Cano, MD, Timothy E. Spencer, DO, T. Adam Kaspar, MD, L. Chris Stines, FNP, Tyson Meyer, MD and the nurses and staff of Hospice of South Texas, and the nursing staff of Citizens Hospital and DeTar Hospital who all cared for Eric during his brief illness.
