Elida R Rodriguez Garcia

Elida R. Garcia, 80 of Victoria came into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 9, 2010. Elida retired as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Elida was a member of our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents Elida was preceded in death by her husband, David Garcia, Jr.; her son, John Edward Rodriguez; sister Guadalupe R. Cardosa; brothers, Inez Fernandez, Chon Fernandez and Maximo Fernandez.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Linda Martinez and husband Sergio of Austin and Mary Louise Garcia and husband Raymond of Victoria; sons, Richard Rodriguez and wife Rachel of Victoria and Joe David Garcia and wife Velma of Victoria; brother, Fermin Fernandez of McAllen; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm with a Rosary to begin at 7pm on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 9am on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Thomaston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Max Lecon, III, Benny Ray Garcia, Jr., Ray Garcia Jr., Fabian Rodriguez, Jonathan P. King and Federico Fernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Garcia, Benjamin Garcia, Max Lecon, IV, Terry Simmons, Jr., Jonathan Rodriguez and Tony Cisneros, Jr.

The family of Elida would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Sandigo, Dr. Chanda, Dr. Ann Wagner, Dr. Du, Dr. Malik, Dr. Troy and the DaVita Staff for going above and beyond providing professional care.
