Mrs. Eleanor Ann "Suzy" Gerrard

She graduated from Patti Welder High School and the University of Texas in 1941 where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, an Orange Jacket and a Phi Beta Kappa. Upon graduation she returned home and taught at Victoria High School and Victoria College retiring in 1988.

Mrs. Gerrard married Robert J. Gerrard in 1942 and upon his discharge from the Army Air Corps after World War II they returned to Victoria.

Suzy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had been a member of the Bronte Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Colonists, Daughters of the Confederacy and the Kreuss of Iris and Muses.

Mrs. Gerrard is survived by her daughter, Gail Gerrrard of Houston and son-in-law, Jack Fye Minor of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest daughter, Ann Gerrard Minor.

Visitation will be Friday August 6, 2010 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels from 10 to 11 AM with funeral services to follow at 11 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Kathryn Morton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
