E.P. “Chavelo”. Salas, 84, of Victoria, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Victoria. He was born in Yorktown, Texas to the late Juan and Merce Yanes Salas on October 1, 1937. He was the Owner of Professional Uniform Center for many years, a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, and served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents Juan and Merce Yanes Salas, Chavelo is preceded in death by his loving wife, Olaya Espinosa Salas.
Chavelo is survived by his daughters; Sharon Salas Fuller of Victoria, Texas, and Cynthia Tamez, of Missouri City, Texas, sons; Carlos Salas and his wife Shanda, of Victoria, Texas, and Darren Salas and his wife Misty, of Victoria, Texas, sisters; Ludy Garcia, of Yorktown, Texas, and Dora Altamirano, of Victoria, Texas, brothers; John Salas, of Victoria, Texas, and Ruben Salas, of Yorktown, Texas. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren; Crew Salas, Trent Salas, Olivia Salas, Ethan Salas, Colton, Salas, and Dalton Salas, as well as numerous extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Honoring him by serving as pallbearers are Crew Salas, Trent Salas, Ethan Salas, Colton Salas, Dalton Salas, and Jamian Espinosa.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 5-7 p.m., immediately followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m., all at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, with interment immediately following at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Father Dalton Ervin presiding.
