Dorothy P. Woods

Dorothy P. Woods, 75, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. She was born February 9, 1937, in Yoakum to the late Lelton and Dorothy Castellow Dickey. She was a retired LVN having worked at Devereaux. Dorothy was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Delbert D. Woods, Sr. of Cuero; daughters, Rebecca Barfield and husband, Quain of Austin, and Maxine Howard and husband, Mike of Corpus Christi; sons, Henry Woods and wife, Jessica of Cuero, and Delbert Woods, Jr. of Corpus Christi; sisters, Virginia Bilbo and Elaine Dominquez, both of Victoria; brothers, Buster Dickey and Fred Dickey, both of Houston; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Startz.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Visitation will continue Friday, August 24, 2012, at 9 am at Hebron Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 10 am with Rev. Frank Boldt officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dickey, Lelton Dickey, Jeff Hogg, Quain Barfield, David Dickey, Willie Dickey, Joseph Dominguez and Christopher Dickey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Woods, Jr., Jordan Woods and Glenn Thomas Gentry.

Memorials may be made to Accolade Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
